I know way more than I did before, which is hard to believe since I’ve been a know it all since the age of twelve.  All of the mistakes I have made to date are under my belt, along with a lot of pizza and burgers. I wouldn’t mind repeating the pizza and burgers, but I will pass on repeating the mistakes. I don’t hate the past, because it has served me well. Yet when I look at photographs of myself from twenty years ago, it makes me feel uneasy. I feel bad for people who look back on their glory days, it’s way better to look ahead to my glory days. And it gives me that much more reason to move forward and live this magnificent life. In Luke chapter 9 of the bible, Jesus said, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Holding on to our past just screws up our future, just like looking backward while plowing makes for a screwed up row. Age 48 left me today, and I say good riddance. Because 49 is looking mighty promising………………not to mention a new burger joint is coming to town.
